Below: Examples of forms from the original photos

Spiral-bound photo book, manually printed with black and silver ink via pronto plate lithography. This project began with a simple prompt: objects. I was interested in type as object, stripped of its meaning within language, and solely viewed for its form. I began by photographing type through the bottom of a mason jar for distortion. The letters took on new forms, which I pushed further by creating symmetrical compositions of mirrored portions of the photos. The iterative process of image-making ultimately drove the concept: believing is seeing.
